I failed yet again to get anti-depressants

bignosegirly0bignosegirly0 Posts: 422 Listening Ear
My mental health has been getting worse. I keep experiencing panic attacks and constant crying at work. I’ve been working with a therapist with mindfulness techniques and nothing has worked. So I wanted to get medicated.

I can’t get to my GP by myself because I don’t have a car. My family is not understanding. I got in contact with my GP, explaining everything and they can’t get me medicated unless I see them in person. Tried a private GP app which costed me £49. The lady who I was chatting to says that the service is unable to deliver anti depressants.

Life feels like a punishment at this point.

It’s probably some kind of protocol that they can’t prescribe it unless they’ve physically seen you but the whole thing sucks given the circumstances. Are you not able to get to the GP any other way? Assuming it’s too far to walk but could you get a bus or something?

also I think if you get medication privately, you’ll have to pay the full cost of the meds each time which might be more than the NHS prescription cost

@AnonymousToe yeah I 100% understand why they would need to see me in person. It’s just annoying just because there are many obstacles that prevents me from seeing them in person.

I’ve brought up the idea of buying a bike and travelling more often to my family as a sneaky way to get to my GP. I’ve made a plan and I’m hoping to get in contact with my GP first before visiting them in a few weeks. I’m praying this plan doesn’t go wrong 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
