documentation of my psychiatric hospital stay

toffuna101toffuna101 Posts: 3,317 Boards Guru
part of me wishes that i documented my psychiatric hospital stay to then look back at it and see how much progress ive made but at the same time i was really unwell so i wasnt able to. when i was in the general hospital in a ward i had this pink notebook where i could draw and write stuff down but i left it behind when i was transported to the psychiatric hospital. looking back at it now it was probably best to leave it behind because i left some confusing words and images due to my mental state.

@toffuna101 it's okay to want to look and see how far you've come and what you've achieved. It's truly incredible stuff and you should be proud of it. If it really is something that you want to see, they usually document everything in your medical records, so that might be worth looking at.

@toffuna101 i'm not quite sure, but you do have the legal right for a full copy of all your medical records. Let me do some research into it quickly and i'll tell you how.

@toffuna101 okay, so, the NHS are really crap at records, and it's stored all over the place with different data controllers. So to get my hospital records, i just did what you call a subject access request, where you go on your hospitals subject access request portal, provide proof of identity to the NHS hospital in question, and then request what records you want from them.
