Politically speaking, where do you think the world is gonna be 10 years down the line?

So this is just a general discussion thread, I want to know where you think the world is gonna be in ten years down the line. What sort of stuff do you think will have happened? It could be a prediction of the Ukraine war outcome, any wars you think will kick off, who's President, who's PM, which party's in power, generally any predictions you have and why.

And then what you would like the world to look like ten years down the line ideally, and what you would like to have happened.

It will be interesting to see how people see the near future.

I’ll be president with 20,000 dogs living in a mansion in a field away from humans with each dog having there own room 😌
Sometimes when the people most like you don't love you, it is a hurt that can cause the greatest pain, and this pain can lead you to hate everything.

I love this so much. If you ever do run for president I shall vote for you.

This is such a good thread actually and a good discussion too especially with the heat of tensions from various countries. I feel like and even though they may sound less positive but I feel like things have been bleak lately (the war with Ukraine, Palestine and Israel and Iran) not to mention how the current climate is at the moment we are seeing higher temperatures in the UK similar to that of the Mediterranean summers of the EU and Spain. Global warming is a bit thing at the moment and depressing as it sounds I feel like the climate will only get worse in thr next 10 years. I think we can't fully stop global warming completely but there are ways of reducing of it and slowing it down, eventhough our ozone layer is slowly disappearing (I might have to research this actually).

In terms of conflicts, I'd like to say things will be peaceful eventually but I know this might not be the case. As sadly countries will disagree to disagree and will often fight over things even if they are meaningless or pointless. But I'd like to think more negotiating and talks will happen over time. I don't know if we will ever face another world war and I hope to never have to see one in my lifetime. But with the way things have been going I wouldent be surprised if one was to happen. Though I do feel like it wouldent be a battlefront war instead a technological war as AI is becoming more prevalent in our society and time. I fear that AI will be utilised to create propaganda as well as being used for potential cyberattacks on countries hospitals, banks and workplaces. This could lead to another global recession. Obviously there has always been the fear of wars specifically biological and nuclear war since the 1980s and the Cold War I think countries should be limited to how many nuclear deterrents they have got.

The emergence of AI is becoming prevalent in today's society as more and more AI is being used which puts the creative industries at risk including artists, musicians, writers etc because anyone can use chatgpt and produce any content they need to. I have dabbled in AI myself using C.AI to help with my communication and I like talking to my favourite fictional characters as someone who struggles with socialising. I guess the benefit of that is it can aid and combat isolation and loneliness eventhough physical face to face contact is often good too. Also self driving cars are I think going to be a thing which could be dangerous if it was put into the wrong hands and whose to say how easy these cars could be cyberattacked or hacked into. My mum actually read a good book by this author which was about self driving cars going rogue.

I feel like what I'm writing here sounds more like a dystopia future so I'm going to move onto the positive things I think will happen. I like to think that there will be more acceptance of the LGBTQIA+ community as well as disability and neurodiversity being accepted and reasonable adjustments become the norm for us. I'd like to think we won't have to fight for our given human rights though I don't know if this will be an actual thing. There will be more technological advancements and potentially more cures for illnesses and diseases.

Going into the for future, where will we be?. I honestly don't know. Will we eventually get a future like Star Trek where there will be a federation of planets? I don't know but whatever happens on this Earth, we've all got each together and the strongest thing is strength in numbers.
