Hi all,

Here is this week's schedule for what Group Chats and Support Threads we should be able to run this week. We'll aim to post these schedules every Monday whilst we're experiencing some chat closures.

Disclaimer: These are also subject to change based on mod and supervisor availability. If we make any changes, this post will be updated ASAP.

Note: To access our chats please head here, and to access our threads they happen right here on the boards!
Tuesday: General Chat and Support Circle
Wednesday:
Thursday: General Chat
Saturday: Support Topic Thread on Thriving Friendships (3:30pm-5pm)
Sunday: General Chat and Support Thread (1pm-2:30pm)

    Heyya @independent_ our Support Places are full for this week but we do have Listener Places left (which also mean you'll be first in line for support if anyone drops out)

    Hey all, unfortunately we will have to close chats this evening as we have had some last-minute mod cancellations. General Chat should be open tomorrow as usual.

    Hey everyone, due to an update in volunteer availability that has just come through, we unforunately will not have enough moderators to safely run Support Chat this evening, therefore, we will open General Chat instead.

    We're very sorry for the last minuet change.

    I'm a bit disappointed tbh. Both chats were cancelled last week after being told we'd have a full house, we ended up having none, on Wednesday general chat got cancelled now today's support is cancelled after the same expectation. I could have really done with it, and I’m sure Im not the only one. I appreciate the effort being made, just a bit frustrating, I'm sorry if I keep complaining and don't want to come across badly. General chat is definitely better than nothing, we just haven't had support chat in a while.

    this is in no way at all a dig at the mods as them giving up their time to mod is very appreciated, however, there’s obviously not a lot of mods left at the mix which is why we have a reduced chat schedule (that is turning into a non existent chat schedule at this point lol) so it’s clearly a case of the same mods repetitively cancelling last min then…? i did see on reviews too about the same mods cancelling time and time again so that’s already been confirmed i guess. surely something should be done about that? it’s not at all fair on us, the people who rely on chats. when in so many roles, especially mental health related roles, consistency is so important. i totally understand things can happen last minute and emergencies happen etc, and that is ok, but surely it can’t be a case of every single time support chat is supposedly running, at the final minute something comes up…?

    again, to clarify, this isn’t at all a dig at the mods in any way - i don’t mean for it to come across that way if it does.

    We want to reassure you that what you are saying doesn't come across badly at all and the Community are always welcome to their opinion and we want to hear it! We know you folks appreciate the time of the mods and have been very patient during this transitional period, which we are super grateful for as a team.

    We hear how frustrating this has been, and we know how important these chats are to the Community, especially the need for consistency. Behind the scenes we are doing all we can to ensure the chats run as frequently as they can, and we are always trying to give you all as much notice as we can if there are changes in how they are running for the day or even further in the week. We are also trying to be as transparent as possible and with our limited numbers, it means that if mods do need to cancel last minute, we are struggling to find cover to keep the chats going.

    We are actively recruiting for the Chat Moderator role, but the applications have been a bit slower than we would like. It's a huge priority for us to increase our mod numbers so that you folks can get the support as often and consistently as you deserve. We're also already training the successful applicants and we appreciate your patience as we get them trained up.

    Please feel free to continue getting out any frustrations or upsets you may have regarding these situations, as it is completely understandable and we will always try to take your feedback on board if there is anything we haven't already factored in!
