(Really dumb question) does aromatherapy actually help with intense emotions?

My autism makes me experience extreme emotions, and sometimes during the worst moments.
For instance, at work, I dealt with two blokes who are friends of a previous bully and they were taunting me by saying the exact same things my bully said to me. As much as I tried to keep my shit together, i eventually bursted in tears and had to go to the back a few times. It’s really embarrassing.
I’ve tried everything. Mindfulness doesn’t work. Meditation doesn’t work. Breathing exercises doesn’t work.
Is aromatherapy actually helpful to prevent you from crying at work?

Although my manager is familiar to me being mistreated by my bully, I haven’t told my manager about the current situation.
When I told my manager that my bully was targeting me both at work and at college, he said he’ll talk to him and make him go through an anti-harassment campaign.
I have considered telling a manager about it. But I have to highly emphasise that I may be wrong, because I got no proof that it is 100% his friends. I’m only convinced because the things they say to me is exactly word to word to what my bully has said to me.
I will consider talking about this with my gp, thank you
Or would you like me to tag you in a separate post for updates?
Also, thank you for the support 🫶
