    - it sounds like you've had a difficult conversation with your dad, and there has been a clash over views - particularly surrounding race and religion. I know this can be a challenging subject for many to discuss (especially within families), but I think you did well to challenge his comments and try and get the idea across that what he was saying was wrong and that he shouldn't be making such remarks.

    I'd say to keep doing what you are doing so far in challenging such comments when they are made, and even if over time his view points don't make a change, at least you know you are doing the right thing in calling them out.
