Hi everyone, i'm Rosie!

Rosie_hRosie_h Posts: 5 Confirmed not a robot
Hello! I have just finished my undergrad degree and am in the middle of applying for a postgrad, and am extremely anxious, yet optimistic. I have found through my studies the importance and relevance of supportive environments and how much impact they actually have on people. I have been looking for the perfect voluntary experience for myself for a long time, and then I came across the mix, and instantly applied!

I am here for anyone needing advice, support or just a simple chat about anything. I typically enjoy gaming, and absolutely love music. My dogs are another area of discussion I am happy to talk about, especially if you also have pets, or a strong love for animals

I cannot wait to start volunteering and look forward to meeting/talking to you all :bleep_bloop::heart:

    Hey Rosie!

It's lovely to meet you. You may appreciate this thread that I made a wee while back https://community.themix.org.uk/discussion/3597497/pet-thread#latest

I'm aware it's been buried so may be hard to find but it's a pet thread!

I've got lots of pets, as you'll find out as you get to know me more :)

I'm also at uni! Going into my 3rd of 4 years UG. What did you study at UG level? And what's your plans for PG?

Hi @Anch0r33 , I will definitely be looking into that thread then! I actually studied a BSc in Psychology with Counselling, and am in the process of finding a MSc in counselling, but am struggling to find the right course at the moment

That's awesome Rosie! How have you been finding counselling? I'm studying a joint honours English lit/theatre studies but hoping to go into either social work or teaching!

Oh cool! I have a friend who is studying English Lit who found it brilliant! Counselling degree is okay, I was kind of let down by a particular lecturer, but it just encouraged me to keep going, and im now more optimistic than ever :D

    Welcome @Rosie_h x
“And when they look at you, they won't see everything you've been through. They won't see the **** that turned to scars that began to fade with time. They won't see the heartbreaking things that shook up and changed your entire world. They won't know how many tears you cried or even what it was you were crying about. They won't see how strong you had to be because you had no other choice. What they will see though is how compassionate you are because you experienced pain. What they will see is how kind you are because you experienced how cruel the world is. What they will see is how good you are because you've seen how bad things or people can be. The difference between you and your experiences are who you choose to be, despite everything that could have turned you cold and unkind. You are the good the world needs and the best of us.” ~ Kirsten Corley
