    if you dont have money to this you have to be careful, if you have some sort of income, try go on a Contiki tour. they do backpacking and its a great way to meet new people

    The interrail ticket is great for this, also may be a good idea to sign up with the YHA (youth hostel association) before you leave and book some hostels through their international network (HI Hostels) - I've heard a lot of things about various hostels, but these ones you can guarantee will be good quality and generally clean.

    Don't take too much and make sure people know of your itinerary in case something happens! Otherwise, have fun :)
