Hello everyone! Following the 2026 Oscars, we thought we’d put together our film top picks! Sort of like our own version, we wanted to highlight some films that we feel bring such an important message through storytelling and characters.  What do you think? Let us know by voting below which ones you think deserve an Oscar from The Mix! If you havn't seen these, we've shared links to the trailers.

Here's some of the films we think stand out the most…

  • Inside Out (2015):  Emotional intelligence/explains how to cope with other emotions. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yr3tv1hW1gg
  • Turning Red (2022): Explores growing up and managing anger. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdKzUbAiswEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdKzUbAiswE
  • We Bought a Zoo (2011): Overcoming grief and starting over. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fopeq7wx4sw
  • A Monster Calls (2016): How to cope with illness/loss - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2Xbo-irtBA

And if anyone would like to comment below any film recommendations we would love to hear which films you’ve seen that left a lasting impression on you.

    Inside Out

Short term 12. It looks at abuse, SA (well hinted at), self harm etc and is set in a group home type setting and it’s quite interesting to watch.

To the Bone in another one that follows the protagonist that has anorexia and is going through treatment but also looks at other eating disorders too.

Oooo love these recomendations @Lottie5433 they both sound really informative and relatable for so many people, it's so great how films can show us the reality of other peoples struggles that we might not always have first hand experience in.
