Labour laws has really fucked us over

I’m not conservative. I’m a liberal. But the labour laws has really fucked everyone over.
Work companies are unable to afford staff due to everything becoming expensive, so they have to cut ridiculously short on staff, making work much more stressful and difficult for everyone.
I hate having shifts where everything is so stressful due to being understaffed.
Edit: I walked in to work and there was one young girl struggling with orders at front. So as I waited for the manager at the counter to ask “do you want me to start early to help her?” She says I can’t because our labour is up to 50%.
