Thinking of joining Andys Man Club

Andy’s man club is basically for men they meet up and have like a brew and you each take turns to talk about your struggles without being judged, it's like support circle here but in person more people and different ages from 18 and it's I think for men but similar it's 1 day a week you take your turn to speak and everyone supports you. It's for men because I think a lot of men feel weak, less masculine and all that for struggling, crying, not being OK and all that but it's not weak at all, it's OK not to feel OK. Like in person supportive I've felt is more effective. I love this community so much, the support is amazing and everyone is amazing, it's definitely been helpful, ive valued the community a lot more since the start of last year. It's just a bit amount of getting support and I've used online stuff. In person support might feel effective and I guess the more support the better.

It's just exhausting to struggle and any support I can get can help, the andys man club sounds ideal, maybe find people who relate, its all sges so people older or younger from 18 plus, I could pottentially meet friends there , it's drop in sessions you could just turn up also it's Monday evening from what I'm told which doesn't clash with any sessions here but if it does for whatever reason clash with here I could see what I think the best or if it clashes with work or whatever I'll have to see but yh im looking at working during the day really for just general but I know it might not be available, I'll know I'll get sorted but in the meantime or when I get a job I get I'm not going to get fully cured, it might get a overwhelmed stressed still, it will definitely help but on bad days things like therapy I'm getting will have or will make a difference hopefully, therapy I'm paying for but another thing about andys man club I think its free too. Andy’s Man Club is basically a support group for men where they meet up once a week and talk about their mental health and struggles without being judged. They have them in different parts of the country, and there’s one local to me.

It was started by, I think, someone who lost their brother-in-law to suicide. Then that person wanted to make a difference, so they started Andy’s Man Club. It’s important because bottling things up can be so dangerous, and a lot of men do it — maybe because they’re too scared to, and all that. It can eventually lead to it getting too much, and I guess suicide. It’s a common killer in young men.

I’ve bottled stuff up before, but I’ve been able to share things here and now to my therapist, and it helps. Talking might not fully cure things, but it can be a weight lifted off your shoulders when you talk to the right people.
