Since my safe person mentioned that I could possibly have DID and to speak to someone irl about it well it’s really scaring me because I know I need to get it sorted if it is but also do I really want to know the answer to why I age regress and have little’s and fronts and other stuff like do I reallly want to know because currently one of the littles/bigs is saying It’s a bad idea 🥲 I know I need to give myself a coaching session to get the courage but yeah idk I guess I got to weigh up my options yk?
Sometimes when the people most like you don't love you, it is a hurt that can cause the greatest pain, and this pain can lead you to hate everything.

@Rose113 Taking that step to seek help and clarity about what you're experiencing could bring some peace, but it’s totally okay to feel unsure about it. It’s a big decision, and you don’t have to rush into it. A lot of people with DID experience similar fears and hesitation around seeking a diagnosis — and it can be really helpful to take your time weighing everything, just like you’re doing.

Maybe the first step could be giving yourself permission to explore the idea without feeling like you need to dive in immediately. If you feel up to it, you could start by having a conversation with a therapist or mental health professional who specializes in trauma or dissociation. That might help you feel a bit more grounded in what the next steps could look like, without immediately jumping into something that feels like it could be too much to handle. You’re in control of the pace of this process.

At the same time, it's perfectly valid to want to protect yourself from this knowledge until you’re ready. It’s okay to hold off and wait until you feel like you’re in a place where you can handle it. You don’t have to force yourself to face something before you’re ready, but also remember that you don’t have to do it alone if you ever decide to seek more clarity.

I really admire how much you're thinking about this and how carefully you're considering your options. Your feelings are totally valid, and you should go at the pace that feels best for you, whether that means taking the time to process this or seeking help when you're ready. If you'd like to talk through any of this more or just need a space to reflect on what you're feeling, the community are here to listen and support you however we can
