Hey everyone,

Unfortunately Support Chat will be closed this evening due to mod capacity, but we will still be running Support Circle and General Chat. We're really sorry about this <3

If you do need support tonight, the discussion boards are here as always for you to reach out for support about anything.

If you need urgent support, call 999 or go to your nearest a&e. Our Crisis Messenger text service provides free, 24/7 crisis support across the UK. If you’re aged 25 or under and are experiencing any painful emotion or are in crisis, you can text THEMIX to 85258.

If you're looking for a distraction or a place to have a general chit chat, feel free to help us get to 20,000, share who your queer role models are for LGBTQIA+ History Month, or have a general chit chat with the community. You're also welcome to come along to General Chat :)

Do take care of yourselves and the usual chat schedule should be back tomorrow :)

Can I ask why is every mod leaving?
It’s really odd for this amount of mods to leave all at once. Has it got something to do with the merge and how it’s run now?
“And when they look at you, they won't see everything you've been through. They won't see the **** that turned to scars that began to fade with time. They won't see the heartbreaking things that shook up and changed your entire world. They won't know how many tears you cried or even what it was you were crying about. They won't see how strong you had to be because you had no other choice. What they will see though is how compassionate you are because you experienced pain. What they will see is how kind you are because you experienced how cruel the world is. What they will see is how good you are because you've seen how bad things or people can be. The difference between you and your experiences are who you choose to be, despite everything that could have turned you cold and unkind. You are the good the world needs and the best of us.” ~ Kirsten Corley

    Hey @Siena

We know there has been quite an increase in goodbye posts from mods over the last few weeks, and each mod has their own understandable reasons for why they have decided to end their volunteering with The Mix. It's really sad when we see mods leave after they've contributed so much to our community, but it's also completely their decision and they'll have their own personal reasons as to why.

I think it's just how things have fallen - sometimes we'll have no mods leaving for a period of time, and other times (like now) we'll have a few who decide to leave. We can also recognise we're still pretty early into a new year, and people's time, priorities and lives might look a little different - and that's okay :)

I guess you could also say I've been the feeling the same way as everyone else on here on the way mods have just been disappearing and leaving and also the instability of the group chats being on then being suddenly cancelled because of mod insufficiency. I'd like to think that mods have left because of personal reasons or to do with them either being on uni or wanting to go on a different adventure, rather than it being associated with the merger (eventhough I do personally feel like the merger may have something to do with it potentially). I feel like there has been lots of changes to the mix, some maybe good, some also may have some negative impacts.
