My new name!

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to pop a thread on here to share that I've changed the spelling of my name.

My parents decided to take the 'o' out of my name as they thought it would be easier to recognise and spell as 'Aife' but all through my life I've been called lots of funny names ... Ayf, Efe, Alfie and even Ivy once!

I really like the original Irish spelling of my name which is 'Aoife' so I'm going to start using this spelling of my name. It's also much easier to recognise now as it's more well known now

So nice to meet you all, my name is Aoife!

Oh and if you're wondering how to pronounce my name, you say ee-fa! (like fifa but with an 'ee' sound)

Yahooo, I always wondered why there was a missing O 🤔

It’s so funny how people try and pronounce Irish names 🤣 but I I like the name Aoife!! It’s very Irish , like my name 😀

Lol I assumed that was just typo when you said your name like that on PMs earlier.

Lovely name @Aoife I love the spelling! Not sure if you know this but I had to be really careful when sending you messages/email responses etc because my laptop is desperate to autocorrect 'Aife' to Wife and that would be an awkward situation! 😅

Hopefully it likes the new spelling!

@Aoife - i don't think i had even noticed that the O was missing or if i did i think i still assumed it to be pronounced as Aoife is - and from one Irish name to another I say definitely embrace the Irish spelling. It took me years to accept the fact the E in Sinéad has the little thing on, but I often just leave it off because it's easier to type/people to remember - plus some forms and things don't recognise "é" so i have to just do an e

This happens to me on a daily basis! One or two awkward moments when we first started working together haha

Thanks so much everyone for your lovely messages, they all made me smile and it's funny hearing your stories of my name! I had 'wife' texted to me so many times before!

It's definitely taking time to get used to, I keep needing to correct my spelling for my new name now!

Also yes we usually get staff onto the staff page of The Mix after 3 months of them being with us but @ella's time here has flown by, it's been like 6 months now!!

But I have to say the meet the team website does need some love, there's some people on there who have now left and some people who've been here for a while are not on there

Thank youu @AnonymousToe & @Chloe234! It's quite a process updating my name everywhere, so many things I didn't think about! Hopefully the staff page will be updated soon with my new name and Ella too!
