Merry December!!! We are now finally allowed to talk about Christmas and listen to Christmas songs! (doing so before December is illegal... I don't make the rules )
Alt text: Shaking image of a cat with a santa hat, with subtext "christmasing intensifies"
So I am here to start a thread full of positivity where we can all start sharing all our favourite things about Christmas/Holidays or just the Winter season in general! ❄️
So a few questions to get yall started;
What is your favourite part about the holidays?
What are you looking forward to most?
And are there any special ways in which you celebrate during the holidays?
For me, my birthday is what starts up my festive mood, since its on the 1st December (today hehe) so I'm always especially looking forward to this month!
What I'm also really looking forward to is getting any snow this year (please). I love the way the world looks when it's covered in white!
And something I know we do differently, in Poland its a tradition to open Christmas presents on Christmas Eve instead of Christmas Day! 🎁

I think for me my favourite part of the holidays is having a nice relax, drinking my favourite hot chocolate out my penguin mug which is super cute hehe!. Also, I think spending time with my family is my my favourite as most of the time I am working so I dont get to see until the evening. For me too I am also looking forward to watching my favourite christmas films, I have watched a few already. I hoping they put planes trains and automobiles back on as that is such a brilliant film.. I missed it the other day. I dont really do anything special in terms of how I celebrate but I think being with family counts as being special to me because there is nothing better than being surrounded by your family and getting to relax.
I have heard of the opening presents on Christmas Eve and I think that is super cool but I would tempted to open them all hehe. Hope everyone has a nice warming safe Christmas this year.
You were born to be a Christmas elf!!! Hehehe
I looovvee the questions, what an awesome post.
My favourite part of the holidays- Chocolateeee!! Haha mostly hot chocolate, when it's cold hehe. Any excuse to stay inside, with a cosy warm fluffy blanket wrapped around me, drinking hot cocoa 😋<3
What im looking forward to the most this holidays is giving gifts to loved ones, and planning activities for my little cousins and seeing them smile and have a magical fun time!
Me and my sister and cousins usually do secret santander with each other in September! I love that so much. Also Christmas markets always super fun 🎄🤶🎁
Sending hugs to all
My favourite part about the holidays is how pretty everywhere is. I love seeing all the lights, decorations, and smiles on people's faces 😊.
I'm also looking forward to seeing the snow too! Back home in Scotland we usually get quite a bit of snow every year and my family have already been sending me pictures of the snow they've had the past few days. Just hope we get some down south! 🌟
I also love going on wintery walks - I really like those days where it's really bright and light but super chilly so you can wrap up warm. Hoping for some more of those days. Christmas markets are also a lovely place to visit @cc_ilaria!
Thank you for starting this thread, JJ! All the positive vibes ✨

This is a really nice idea for a thread!
I'm not sure I have an overall favourite part, it's a lot of little things put together that make it enjoyable for me. I find the weather really pretty - how the ice and frost glistens over everything early in the mornings. I enjoy the cooler weather and being cosied up inside. I enjoy seeing all the fairy lights, particularly one house in my town which does up the trees in their garden with string lights which makes it look really pretty. I love hot chocolate, especially the variety you can get in the winter. I enjoy rewatching my favourite Christmas films. And I agree, I also really like the snow too, I'm hoping we get some and it lies hopefully! I also enjoy the Christmas markets in the shopping centres and in the towns, as well as the town Christmas lights on the lamp posts and seeing each town's Christmas tree. I also like the planning aspect of giving gifts to people, even though it can be a bit stressful!
We always go up to visit extended family on boxing day on my dad's side which I always look forward to as it's always a laugh and it's really enjoyable for me, as we don't see them much - we only tend to see family once in summer, once in winter, and once in spring, as my cousins live in England.
I love this question as I find it so interesting hearing about other people's cultural or even personal familial traditions! We typically read the Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve as my brother enjoy it. On Christmas day we actually tend to get a Chinese takeaway as my brother is tube fed, I don't enjoy turkey, so there wouldn't much point going to the effort of cooking for 2 out of 4 in the family but it works for us and that's all that matters! We still do the Christmas crackers as it feels like a must, and my brother really enjoys them! We've also started making cinnamon buns on Christmas day just from the ready to go tubes, which always taste really good! We open presents on Christmas day, but stockings first and then we just do our own thing. I'll usually text friends and family when I have the chance to as well. We also tend to have the radio/TV on in the background with either music or a Christmas film.

I dont exactly have a fav part either however the movies and music always make my heart glad
What im looking forward to the most is just spending time with my family. It also is always nice to take a break from the busy day to day and just relax for a week or so to recharge the batteries
My favourite thing about the holidays is being able spend quality time with friends and family - it's the one time of the year that we all have time off, so it's great to catch up with loved ones over some great food and music!
I can see hot chocolate is a fan favourite - and I absolutely agree!
Also spending time with family, that also very important, if not the most important part of christmas for me. Its just a lovely time for everyone to get together and spend time with each other, as we don't have the opportunity to do so in our busy day to day lives.
