Trapped- A Poem

This poem is something that I have written to try and express how I have been feeling when my mind becomes overflooded with thoughts and feelings.

Trapped
Trapped and wanting to get out
Unable to escape, scream and shout
My mind is a mess
Is there a button I can press
Make things feel less insane
Is this some sort of game
Taking my breath
Overwhelming my head
The words won't come out
I want to scream and shout
But I'm trapped
Trapped in my mind

    This is a really lovely poem and I felt like I could relate to some parts of it too. Poetry can be a great way of releasing thoughts and emotions.

    Thank you so much everyone for the lovely comments on my poem. Writing the poem helped me to understand and express how I am feeling. I can find communication to be difficult but writing sometimes helps me.

    Really positive to hear writing the poem has helped you to understand and express how you are feeling at the moment @Dancer. Always important to have a communication method you find more manageable and that's more comfortable for you, even if that's not spoken :)
