Hi @Past User. I'm not too sure on the quote settings but I will experiment here if you don't mind. The signature is the text that people have under each of their posts, the settings let you choose if you want to see it or not. Hope this helps

Okay I figured it out
The quote settings let you choose how many chains of quotes you can see on someone's post.

If you have it set to "1 level deep" you will see my last post like this (with a button that says show previous quotes)

but if you have it set to "2 levels deep" or more you will see it like this

I hope that makes sense. I wouldn't worry too much about it, it very rarely makes a difference.
