Some of these could be things such as,
- Feeling alone or left out, because everyone is happy and you're not.
- Wishing you didn't have to deal with it because of other events within your life.
- Wanting to celebrate it with someone who is struggling.
- Being angry at others views of a 'perfect' Christmas.

It can affect your mental health in other ways too such as
- It may be making it harder for you to spend it how you want.
- Stressful experiences at Christmas can make it worse.
- Enjoying it may trigger mania or hypomania.
- It can be harder to access services due to closure(Section on that further down)
- Christmas can involve lots of food which may be triggering to those with Eating disorders.
- Time spent with family that you may not get along with, or opposite, time you can't spend with family especially this year.

Tips for coping during stressful times
- Be gentle, patient and kind to yourself. (Prioritise what is best for you, think about what you need, and consider talking to someone you trust)
- Look after yourself. (Remind yourself it won't last forever. Set your boundaries. Allow yourself to experience these feelings. Take time out. Give yourself the things you need.
Talking to others.
(Let people know you're struggling. Tell people what they can stop, start, or continue doing. Don't feel you have to justify yourself!)
