Good Deeds This Christmas

Hey guys, 

I wanted a space where people can share what good deed they're doing this Christmas to help others. It could be something as simple as doing a neighbours shopping or cooking your nana Christmas dinner or writing someone a card who may not otherwise get one! 

Community spirit is SO important, especially this year. Perhaps others will be inspired by your good deed and decide to do one themselves! 

This Christmas, I am going to send some Christmas cards to our local care home and I'm going to spend a few hours volunteering for Crisis Text Line <3

    Normally back home I went to the care home and cooked them dinner. Few times me and my dad went around giving the Homeless stuff.

    Bt different this year I'll stick to sending my dad a Christmas card and staying active on different forums and groups to make sure everyone is okay when other services may be down :)

    I'm working Christmas day this year, but I plan on spending some time on here over Christmas to support others. I'm also going to take some treats if for the staff at the other place that I volunteer :heart:

    My good deed is I went a brought some new toys and things for operation Christmas child, where you fill a shoe box with gifts and they get sent to people who don't have as much as we do etc.
    You get to pick and age range and gender

    It is a Christian based charity and does go on about the a bit, but it's the one I use to send gifts to children 
    If you find the date for it is too close, you could always check in with a local food bank and see if they are giving out toys to children and gift that way, 
    If you and a few friends want a big big project, check in with the children ward at local hospital! They absolutely love getting gifts to give to children who are stuck in hospital at Christmas, however I don't know what the rules for that are this year because of covid

    Ah thank you! I checked with the local hospital and they're not accepting them this year :( But they're doing a fundraiser instead!

    Ah ok, at least that's something! 
    I remember last year a 9 year old girl spent all her birthday and Christmas money on buying presents for the children's ward at a hospital

    I do 3 days volunteering for Crisis at Christmas every year and I can’t wait. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done to be honest, every time I do it I feel so proud. It’s going to be very different this year as it’ll be set up in a hotel with minimal contact vs usually being in an empty school with lots and lots of contact and activities.

    Been working on Saturday, giving families an experience with Santa, they got a bag full of presents per child and a meal to take home too
