Hey everyone,

Sometimes we need to rant about Christmas! So we’ve created this thread for anyone to rant about anything Christmas related, or anything at all!

We’re all here to listen and support you whatever you want to rant about. :)

- Aife
Maybe somethings don't get better, but we do. We get stronger. We learn to live with our situations as messy and ugly as they are. We fix what we can and we adapt to what we can't. Maybe some of us will never fully be okay, but at least we're here. We're still trying. We're doing the best we can. That's worth celebrating too ❤

When in town earlier this week in the freezing cold, we passed The Salvation Army playing carols such Once In Royal David's City. Suddenly Jules stopped to hug into me and cry. Everything that had stacked up in our family life and with poor mum, fell down. Though loving 'The Army' for the good they do for homeless and the distressed, I held Jules while she cried like a baby. As snow and sleet swirled around us and the wind blew bitterly cold, I cried, too.

Why why is it that carols bring down the tears? My poor darling wept til her eyes hurt. How we made it home i don't know. This time of the year though I love being at home where mummy might be with us, I love. But carols? They evoke tears. Unrelenting turmoil and these overwheklming feelings make me ashamed of myself for crying just when I thought ;'another festive season but this time I'm gonna be strong!' Pooh.

For those who say its the season to be jolly, is chatting bs. Its a reminder that a new year is approaching and a fresh start and all that shit, but everyone knows thats aloud of ballocks, cause in reality nothing changes, you just have to put a front on to prove to people that you are doing okay, when you aren't. Its a reminder of what awful things have happened. A reminder of those we've lost and so forth. It also clearly gives people a reason to start feeling people up in pubs an awful lot more than the ammount it was already happening. 'Come on its Christmas' can't be used an exscuse, yet, every bitch out there seems to use it.

Feel like I've missed out on so much, sent my eldest sister a Christmas card today for the first time ever, and it was so hard trying to find one without all that 'thanks for the memories' shit, cause really we have no memories.. I only found out she existed a little over a year ago and i feel like we will always be strangers now :(

Thanks, Ekleanor. But I don't think she's got the D&V virus. More like "Bleurgh, not a morning person" sort of feeling. I gave her a nice milky chocolate drink and taken her back to bed. Think I'll knit Jules a woolly bed cap. :thumb:

*Imperial March playing in the background*

I decided to just boycott Christmas gift giving this year. Told my family and friends not to buy me anything and I won't be buying anything for anyone in return. That way, you dodge the stress, expense and hassle of buying for everyone you need to buy for. Thought I was going to get a bit of flack for it from the fam, but interestingly people seemed perfectly happy!

OMG!!! I would never have @Mike down to be xmas Grinch.

Tbh no one had me down to be the Christmas scrooge.

I hate this time of the year because there is to much of a build up for no reason. Around this time last year you most of you guys would of probably met a very shy, vulnerable young carer who just struggled to talk about her feelings and generally did a lot of 'stupid' stuff last year and then found yous and well then life happened an extra god know how many pair of helpful hands i can say i am on for a bit of a better xmas but still not feeling it.

So Roll on scrooge for longer!!!!

    Speak soon

Oh there is a Christmas ranty thread!😂 oh well lol I'll report mine so it gets deleted.

I just spent an hour in town and there was just rude people pushing by and beeping their horns. I feel completley drained, tierd and fedup so I've come back to bed😥

“And when they look at you, they won't see everything you've been through. They won't see the **** that turned to scars that began to fade with time. They won't see the heartbreaking things that shook up and changed your entire world. They won't know how many tears you cried or even what it was you were crying about. They won't see how strong you had to be because you had no other choice. What they will see though is how compassionate you are because you experienced pain. What they will see is how kind you are because you experienced how cruel the world is. What they will see is how good you are because you've seen how bad things or people can be. The difference between you and your experiences are who you choose to be, despite everything that could have turned you cold and unkind. You are the good the world needs and the best of us.” ~ Kirsten Corley
