Ok, i posted a thread a while ago about my best mates ex bf, if u dont remember it brief thing, i like my best mates ex bf, he likes me, shes jealous.

I was laughin about it today with her and shes sayin basically keep your hands off him! Outa respect for my best mate i spose ive got to keep away from him therefore, we cant get together. :(

do you think im doing the right thing by not gettin with him? what would u do? xx

    If i was you i would explain to her that she should be happy for you if you get with him. Unless she still likes him which it sounds like she does then tell her to get back with him.

    It always depends on the circumstances, but as a general rule I'd say if your friend doesn't want you to get together with him, you should definitely respect that. It depends who's more important to you, the friend or the guy. And I should think it's the friend, in which case keep your hands off him. There are plenty more fish in the sea.

    Edited because I just read the bit in which you said 'it's obvious she still adores him' - surely if that's the case, you wouldn't want to go anywhere near him?! You know it'll just upset her and ruin your friendship!

    I think i will keep away from him, well stay mates with him, just thing is what should i say to him cos he will go mad if i say its cos of leah (my mate) cos he says she interfears, :confused:

    She's his bloody ex and your friend, she's got a right to interfere! If you haven't got the guts to tell him it's because she said she's unhappy, just say you feel it would be awkward. Don't say she's said anything, just make it clear that it's not a great situation, and leave it at that, he'll get over it.

    Oh - and friends are far more valuable than a brief partner... Stay away from him in a seeing him kind of way... Will work out for the best! :)
