Secondly, yes 5mg will make you sleepy, a little foggy-headed. But its not really going to knock you out as such. 10mg should do that if your a normal sized person.
Also obviously NEVER mix it with booze at ALL.
Or the MIND website.
Pay particular attention to the section on side effects, some of them aren't pleasant and if you don't have any reason to take them other than entertainment..........
Its just annoying my PCT wont pay for me to go to a specialist about my sleeping problem, bastards.
couldn't resist
Oh and of course I really dont like people misusing NHS prescribed drugs because effectively you are stealing from all of us. Not only is it a waste of money but also it makes it harder for people with legitmate problems to get the drugs they need.
i went in with emily. i watched this incompetent bumbling idiot more or less throw these little pins at her in the hope they might land somewhere beneficial. i admit my knowledge of acupuncture is zero but ...the guy was not inspiring my confidence. one pin he bent into an almost u shape and carried on using it anyway by 'hooking' the bloody thing into her ...like a fishing hook ...meaning the pointy end was sticking out sideways! i'm on a promise to emily that i wont go into victor meldrew mode ...something i have a habit of apparently ...so said nowt.
the guy decides that before he tries acu on me i should first try being plastered for a fortnight ...things began to look promising after all ...but no.
he talked me into having a 8inch wide strip of plaster stuck to the base of my head and stuck halfway down my back. then 10 inch wide strip put across my shoulder blades ...this is so i can't move my head into a looking down position therby trapping the nerve in my neck. he then runs a four inch wide strip up my right arm and anchors that with more wide strips of plaster and proudly anounces that my right arm is now an inch shorter than my left ...
less wieght on the nerve. emily arrived home with a needle left behind in her back ...i arrived home walking very oddly with arms and head in strange positions ...
i was to keep this on for two weeks! he hadn't shaved any hair off before applying the strips ...within 24hrs i could stand no more ...could i get this mass of plaster off ...no! i was in friggin agony. i was about to go to AandE to have it removed when emily remembered having read...soak it in baby oil ...it just dropped off ...the baby oil led to other things and all was ok.
i'm looking for a more reputable acu man ...
However sleep is almost always good for the body in that type of situation, so the jury is out somewhat.
Something like GHB or the new breed of sleeping pills would be better. Although GHB can lead to problems because you get whats termed as a dopamine rebound effect and it can make you feel worse.
Of course as you say the healthiest option would be not to take the sleeping pill at all, or even do any drugs, but well some dont like that option.
