I've always thought that milk is good for you, but was recently told by a friend that drinking too much of it can be bad for you due to too much calcium.

If so, how much is too much?

I drink at least 14+ pints a week. :nervous:

i drink a lot as well. i wouldnt worry about it that much but you can have too much of anything really. milk is lovely tho. god. mmm. milk. i want some milk.

I bet in the future people will have a little thing in the wall and they say milk and it puts milk in a glass for them. almost like star trek. oh god. id love a star trek thing

I knew it could make you sick if you drink too much at once, but like over a long period if you drink a lot the calcium can't harm you can it? Heh. Paranoia. :crazyeyes

that's leon, It's actually a film about a hitman, was made in 1995ish i think, if not earlier. classic :P

Here they had some "drink two glasses of milk every day!" campaign going on some months ago.

Apparantly it's more important for women to drink milk than men, and I think that it's the most important for teenage girls. After you get old enough you wont need as much milk or something.

But yeah, I've heard that too much milk can be damaging. But how much I am not sure... 0.0

I really wouldnt' know because, for me, I don't get enough calcium, because I can't eat or drink anything that has milk products in it because I am pretty much lactose and tolerate. So, if I can ever remember, I take about two 500mg, a day, of a calcium suppliment.

I think schools should have free milk again coz its good for kids

free milk in schools now is only for the under 5s I think. I used to get free milk all the way through infant school though (im so old)
They should bring that back. I think you can still get it at infant schools though, as long as you pay for it, but its subsidised.

I NEVER GOT FREE MILK! Must have been the two nurseries I went to were shitty . . .

ANYWAY! I drink loads of milk. Never been a problem for me . . . We get through loads of it, my mum has her skimmed, the rest of us have semi-skimmed. We go through about 2 of them 6pint things in a week I think.

I have heard that skimmed milk is a bit difficult to digest, the body doesnt like it very much, its, strangely not fatty enough, that and it has no taste what so ever.

I have most of my milk in the form of cheese anyway, mmmm, cheese.
