How do you go about making your own bar/night club business from scratch?

Would you get experience by working in a bar first? And how would you go about starting up a your own club and how old do you have to be, etc?

Start as a DJ or promoter, save the money you make and keep reinvesting in your business. I can think of a few people who did it this way. I would have thought 18 would be the minimum age but getting the experience required by working in a pub or club will be invaluable so you might want to hold off a few years while you do so.

Start by getting barwork. Work your way up the ladder - barstaff, shift supervisor, manager etc. etc. Get a licence, get money.

    Hey!

If it was me I'd get a job in a bar or something first to make sure I liked that kinda work. Then maybe after a few years of experience I'd look into setting up my own business.
