Alternately you can do self help classes :nervous:
Surely actually getting a record deal and actually being able to sing are more important
Which in turn would make you more confident, and that might make you less shy
oh... and here's me thinking you were perfect! :banghead:
Tbh, I don't see how someone with such a desire to be 'different' and who claims to be so outgoing and loud can be shy.
But can you actually sing
too damn right. *i would like to point out the word 'claims' in the above quote*
lol, i didn't think of that, but then again all those soap stars, turned pop stars can't sing, so i guess it might not be that important
Do it because you like singing, don't do it to be famous.
If it's fame you want, there are loads more easier ways than that
i'm gonna be famous! for defs.
last night was lush, even though i didn't get on till quarter to eleven after most people had buggered off!
Yes, I am very strange in the way that I love getting attention, by wearing eyecatching outfits and makin a fool of myself. It's just when I have "all eyes on me" like at concerts and things (I have performed in a choir) I get so nervous, I get panic attacks.
I have always been shy, but it seems that I am very good at hiding it. All of my friends would say I'm not shy at all, but they don't see how frightened I get in front of lots of people.
This is what I need to conquer!
I am a good singer, I can belt out some pretty good notes and I have a unique style.
What I need is the confidence to go all the way...
Any ideas?
three bottle of beer and then go for it,
a few bars in you will forget they're all there
There's a Karaoke bar in town, so maybe I mite have the balls to have a go!
You cant just *get* confidence. Practice obviously helps, but if its not there, it aint ever going to be there. And nerve dont help.
I used to be in aband, and you're damned if you think as soon as you can get a little confidence up you're going to be alright, jesus its not easy. You cant just go into sony and say, Make me famous! it doesnt work like that.
and I know from a fact sony dont even take demo's (even if they're professionally done) unless the're sent through an agent. and an agent is a hard thing to get. anyone can join an agency, you can join an agency if you're invisable for gods sake... but a) you've got to get an agents address, and that in itself is not easy b) you have to convicne them to travel all the way from where they're based to you c) you have to convince them you're worth taking on, which means doing a public performance and inviting them to it, i mean come on.... its not as easy as just saying 'im going to be famous' have you thought about this public performance in order to impress the agent, where you're going to have it, how you're oging to pay for? have you thought about whether the agent's a good one? i mean, you dont even know how to build up your confidence, it amazes me to think that you have the slightest idea of how to get even half way close to finding a reputable agent's address, and convincing them to come and see you. Sorry, but, yeh.
Go for it, once you have done one song then you will be gagging for it. Do a song that you know you can sing good, make sure its not a hard one with high notes etc and get up on that stage
Sorry I have to agree with what was said, if you want it and really want it you have to get out there and make people listen.
Lots of famous people suffer from nerves so your not the only one but once they get up on that stage they lose it and get on with what they are there for which is to enjoy what they are doing and let everyone else see they are having a good time on the stage.
im not trying to kill you!! im just stating how difficult it is, you cant just walk into a plcae and be a changed woman, it takes time and money and energy and everything else i could go on about. From how you were talking, you just didnt seem so clued up on the involvements of it all, and as someone who knows i just thought id pass on my knowledge to you.
The way you wrote about it, it was like you just didnt understand all the ins and outs, forgive me for trying to explain.
Was wondering that myself. But don't think she's had it yet? May be wrong.
You'd rather be disillusioned then?
I still think it sounds like your main aim is to be famous though.
oh no i did go, it was a couple of weeks ago. Sang Morcheeba and apparently it wasn't 'poppy' enough. It was only three days after my surgery too, which i dont think helped. Oh well, i would have turned into some manipulated and manufactured 'cheesey pop' performer if id have taken the root, so its a blessing in disguise. But we've got the national acting students competition coming up next year, which is looking good for us, we've put 'dinner' forward for it (read more here) and the assessors came to see it in its performance week, and it went really well so we're quite excited. They really liked it. The festival's next year (see here) and you get to stay for the whole thing when you're performing, and there's only 15 groups who get through so we're quite lucky, its all very exciting!
I remember now. They made you change your song just before you went in didn't they. Never mind. Your chance will come.
Im going to be a porn star
I'm already one. Just..no cameras
:P
Don't they say to Imagine the Audience naked is good to overcome stage fright?
Also when you're up there why not just imagine yourself as if you were viewing yourself on TV or something rather then being the one with the eyes on.
