Do you think that we should be playing the Zimbabweans at Cricket?

Does sport have nay relevance whatsoever to the world of politics, human rights etc?

As we don't have enough problems already.
Shouldn't punish the Zimbabwian (is that how you say it? ) for their government, which they can't do much about in the first place.

It's not about punishing the population but the government in question, by isolating it internationally and applying pressure.

I don't think anyone doubts the isolation and boycotts South Africa suffered during the Apartheid had a big influence and ultimately helped remove the scum from government.

Interestingly one of the Zimbabwean (I think Jacq :) ) cricketeers who was banned from these games for protesting says the games should go ahead because it keeps people focused on the issue of Zimbabwe and gets Media interest for the protestors.

That seems like a good reason for carrying on with the games.......

Anyone suggesting a boycott of the Chinese Olympics?

Id like to protest against Peter Tatchell living, but thats another point.

The cricketer is right, its keeps Zimbabwe inm the public domain, and that is a good thing. As one protestor pointed out, where are the USA now, after what they did in Iraq?

Only a cynic would possibly think that the lack of oil in Zimbabwe is an important consideration.
