Do I say or do I not?

I am applying for a full-time job before going to university (as a mature student) in September. Do you think that I should mention this on my application form, or just resign when necessary?

Just resign. That's what I did.

Aye, but would the firm be more impressed - and hopefully more likely to give me the needed job - if I state what I will be doing? Or, if I disclose it, will they think that it is pointless to hire someone for only 5 months?

They would probably not consider you. Depends what sort of position it is.

They probably wouldn't even consider you for a position if you weren't going to be around long term. If you get an interview however they may ask you about long term plans. If you want the job the best thing to do would be to lie! In all seriousness they would be unlikely to fill a vancancy with someone who was planning to leave because they'll just have to go through the whole process again in five months.
