Looks like the Iraqis are firing the wells.

Was it not a pre-war objective to attack quickly so they would not have a chance to do this, seems like a pretty poor performance if they have started the attack but failed to prevent this from happening.........

    the paras should be getting in there soon. And quite a few iraqis in charge of burning the wells have agreed not to. If the paras get in soon enough its avoidable.

    its extremely difficult to put oil fires out... but theyll most probably find a way.
