dont you reckon if we didnt have career politicians, that life would be so much better?
EDIT: and i mean generally people who have gone to university to study politics,and care more for their careers than the country because tats all they been learning to do all their life
ie bush and tony blair
and america being extreme politically, hahahaha its like choosing between pepsi and coca cola, when you might want orange
other european countires though, too much in-fighting because of no real leadin parties, like in uk and usa
what i also think we need is our parties to actually think through what they want and presnt it to us clearly and consisely because im sure more people would vote then *dreads voting age lowerd to 16!!!*

Most politicians enter politics to better society (at the least one would like to think that). Besides what is wrong in having ambition? For example, if a person is elected as a backbencher, is it wrong for them to desire being a cabinet minister or even the PM?

Also if you study the backgrounds of our politicians they do not normally live their lives in politics.
Blair studied law and practised as a lawyer I believe.
Prescott was a trade unionist.
William Hague worked in business
etc, etc.......
