Question for you lot...

Hi

The town I'm from in Scotland (which happens to be the most fishing dependent town in Britain  ) is in trouble after the EU decision on quota cuts and restrictions (such as amount of days the fisherman can work) for fishing in the North Sea.

Basically, my question is, does this need legislation from the UK Government ?? Especially the restrictions on working practices.

What kind of legislation were you thinking of?

Like would the EU's proposal's on restrictions of working time require to be passed through the Commons before being actual law ??

Of course it does. The EU may override Britain's sovereignty, but logically only Parliament can make (or unmake) a specific law for the UK. :)
