hi, just happened upon thesite today. I think it crazy and cool. I hope to enjoy it each day. I am a young "intelligent"? Canadian. I live in a medium small city, where nothing ever happens.

Canada has this "sales tax" thing doesn't it. Is this equivelent to the UK's VAT? I was wandering because Canada adds 8.5% on products. The UK adds 17.5% for VAT, but the USA don't have to pay any extra at all.
Monserrat - that was quite a random thing to come out with, but I had a look around for you, it does look like the americains do have a sales tax or there are currently two national retail sales tax bills before the U.S. Congress of either 15% (HR 2717) or 23% (HR 2525) and you can find more information at: http://www.salestax.org/
