Does anyone have any magical migraine cures? Please? *whimpers*

No, I have not done a search. Yes, this makes me a hypocrite. No, I don't care. It hurts too much.

If they happen regularly, you need to see a doctor, as there may be a reason for the migraines...e.g hormones, anything! As for a short term cure....other than pain killers and a dark room, I don't know about anything else! Sorry! Tates xxx

Get straight away from your comp, them lights wont help it. you need to be in a dark room, with little or no light.

If you have regular migranes I was told chocolate is bad for you, dont ask me why i just remember that you are supposed to keep off it.

If you suffer often you can get a certain medication from your doc.
Hope it goes soon for you, cos migranes are horrible:)

I've had a migraine about once a year since 1999. The 1999 one lasted for about a week, and the follow-ups in more recent years were 1 or 2 days each.

Neurofen is a fairly potient pain killer. Take plenty of water and sleep. Actually getting to sleep is hampered, but the Neorofen will help. Take it about 30 minutes prior to sleep, and take only one pill.

Thank you all. I'm feeling better today. It has subsided into a bearable headache and the nausea has gone away (mostly).

Neurofen is a brand name for ibuprofen. I took two of them last night. As well as two extra strength tylenol (equivalent to paracetamol). Just one or the other doesn't touch it.

I do get migraines regularly, but I've never seen a doctor for them, per se, though I have spoken to a doctor about them in relation to other things. *sigh* My mother gets them, and my sister gets them. I could get medication for them, the problem being that it cost $20 (Canadian) a pill. My sister got a prescription and had to pay $120 for 6 pills. I refuse to do that. I'm a student, and I'm broke. I shall suffer instead.

    Hi Scarlett,

Get down to the doctor's surgery. There are all kinds of things they can prescribe for you, including specialist tablets and in extreme cases there is an injection you can have. They might also be able to get to the bottom of what's causing it, some people find that they're triggered by PMS, stress or certain foods.

If you're in your teens, you might just grow out of it. That's what happened to me anyway. But ibuprofen is probably not going to do the trick for you, so it's best to get it sorted out properly. Also, if you have 'classical' migraine, many doctors say you should avoid the combined oral contraceptive pill and stick to the mini pill instead - consult a doctor about this.

    Hope you feel better soon
    :)

I suffer from migraines on a regular basis. I tend to get 1 or 2 a day. If they are really bad u shud see a doctor and they will try u on a number of things
You need to find the trigger of your headaches, i'm still trying to find mine. The most obvious things can be cheese, chocolate, alcohol, or any sort of medicene you may currently be on. There is loads of info on the net about migraines just search for it!

Hope you find your trigger soon - i know they can be painful!
