About my so called 'mate' (Reply needed fast!))

Hey people. OK, got a prob whih I could really sue some help for!

OK, a few months ago, my best mate lied to me about something. My sis found out and confronted him. After this, he got ticked off with her and posted abuse about her on his forum on his homepage. I got involved as anonymous, when I revealed my identity, he stopped. (Wanted to avoid a fight coz I've a LOT of Kung-fu lessons). - He told me he would stop slagging off my sis, so he did.

For about a week, hes done it again on another forum so he thought it was behind my back. But it wasn't behind my back, I've seen all the posts made. Also this time, its not just my sister, its me aswell. - And aswell as that, he wrote some pretty nasty about me and my sis on his homepage, aswell as revealing a secret I told him about which I trusted him with.

Now that everyone knows it - Which was that I met up with someone over the internet (Parents don't approve of it by the way coz of the paedophiles). Parents found out and I'm in trouble with them - They've stopped me from seeing this person ever again! I was friends with her for almost a year, and can never see her again! So I'm even more ticked off with him.

Now that he has done this again aftr saying he wouldn't, I don't know what to do. Minutes ago I did my first post on that other forum having a go at him. But I need to ask these questions which I'm stuck with:

(1) Should I fight him / Kick off on him? - On the page with the "nasty stuff about me and my sis", he says he'll rip my head off if I hack his site again (That hacking is part of a long story - Basically he wrote stuff about my sis on his site, and I deleted it). So he thinks he can beat me in a fight.

(2) Should I stop being mates with him? I know I can't trust him! - Problem with this if I do it, the only mates I have is him, and 2 people I met off the net (who are no longer mates coz of what i said above). If I stop seeing him, I'll have NO mates! I'm shy and bad at socialising, so I find it hard to get them. - Which means if the answer to this question is yes, I could be without friends for a long time.

(3) If you say no to both questions above, what should I do about it?


I next see my 'mate' very soon, and by then he would've seen the post. So I quick reply could be useful to me!

Plz help!

Thanks, LOTS, to anyone who replies to this. As it will prove very useful, seeing as I have no idea at all with what to do!

    Sounds like you have a crappy friend. You should tell him to his face that makes you very angry. Also why is saying these things about you and your sister? Not that he has any right to do so, but did something happen that pissed him off? Talk to him about all of it and find out why he did it.

    Forget about your mate - there are plenty of nicer people out there to make friends with (which you will, regardless).

    Just chill. Don't fight the guy - ignore him. He'll soon get bored.

    He shouldn't have told folk, but this is a risk you took by trusting him with the secret. Essentially this is a problem with your parent's attitudes, you need to bargain with them so that you can see this girl.

    Sounds to me like you're taking the whole thing way too seriously. So he's posting some comments on a BBS. Who cares? It reflects more on him than on anyone he's trying to slag off.

    Should you fight him? *shrug* personally I think you'd have little to gain from that. Also depending on how good you are at martial arts you could face serious charges if you attack him.

    Yes you should stop being mates with him. He's treating you like shit and you don't need him. You may be left temporarily without a friend but since he's just a useless dick who gives away all your secrets and slags you and your sister off, it seems that he's useless to you anyway. Get rid of him, and talk to your parents about being able to see the other people you've met.

    Don't bother meeting him. See if he does anything.

    Hey, thanks for that ppl.

    I'll go with everything all of you have said. I won't fight him but will try to stop seeing him again. If he starts a fight with me, I'll then I'll have no choice but to fight back. I don't think he will though. (He'll probably threaten to, but will wait for me to pull the first punch which I won't do).

    On the last reply where you put "Don't btoher metting him". - I wasn't going to, we go to college together though. I'm back home now though and I didn't see him. (til tomorrow).

    Report his site/the boards to his isp who will delete the meterial for you, as its abuse, thats what id do!

    Hello ppl, sorry but I had to post again, another problem has arisen.

    I did come on originally to post the problem, but I just seen NeoNero's post to report his site since its abuse, which will get rid of that problem if I do that. Therefore I am going to do what NeoNeo said, but.....:

    How do I do it? The site he uses for it is geocities, so I went onto geocities.com I can't find anywhere where I can report it. Does anyone here know how to?

    tell us if u take my advice if u do u probably make loads of good honest mates who wont disrespect u or your family.

    Hey guys, just saying you can ignore the post I did where I asked where I can find out about reporting him to geocities. I posted it in the net forum, and got a link.

    I'm going to say if the stuff is deleted (where I'm getting slagged off) then I'm willing to make things go back to normal.
    Was going to stop seeing him which is what I posted before, but all my mates get on very well with Iain (the best mate) and are wondering why we are arguing (They haven't seen what he has wrote about me and my sis). I have to do that to avoid losing all them mates I have aswell.

    So its a no-win situation unfortunately, but if it happens again in the future, then I really will mash his face in.

    At the end of the day it's only the internet and half the things people write on it dont get listened to anyway. Its pretty obvious that the lads not going to fight you as otherwise he'd have done the shit stirring in real life.

    Report his site, leave him to it and don't bother fighting. He's obviously a wanker so stop getting stressed over such a knob. When you see him at college just blank him and don't rise to the bait. If you try fighting him my guess is you'll end up looking like the bad guy and it'll backfire.

    Oh and if you take whatsdacraics advice i should think all you'd end being is a wannabe ganasta whose real mates avoid him.

    On geocities, there should be a contact email address, it'll be real obvious and on the front page, his isp, well you'll need to find out if he's on say BT/freeserve etc etc and email them, normally at either abuse@bt.com or customerservice@bt.com for example. But try geocities main front page and just contact the email that looks most right, so either click on HELP, or privacy policy or one of them near the bottom and they should contain an email addy to contact.
