Hello all!!!

I don't know if what I want to say should be placed in here or in everything goes, but here we go anyway....

I have been living in the Nederlands for over a year now. I am deeply interested in languages, and I do not really think you feel 100% in the country where you live, till you are able to speak and properly understand the language.

As most of you might already know, 95% of Dutch people speak very good english (and some very good German, French, etc), which makes practicing Dutch incredibly complicated. My level of Dutch is not good enough yet to keep a real conversation, although I can understand and say quite a few things, therefore is very easy to swap into english. As a result is getting me longer than I thought to learn the language (and is driving my crazyyyyyy!!...)

So the question in here would be, is anyone interested in interchanging Spanish/Dutch (I am Spanish, but would not mind to talk in English) conversations with me?? Do you know anywhere in he Internet where I can find someone to help with??

Thanks a lot!!!!!!

It's the case with all countries that they appreciate you so much more if you do speak the language or at least make an effort to. Thankfully I have a gift for picking up languages quickly after having been to the country - sadly I've forgotten almost all of my Dutch and Turkish which is a shame because the're both gorgeous languages. The worst are the French and Italians because they are so arrogant and will ignore you if you don't make an effort but will be so cool if you do. Dank u vel, tot weerziens! (I might have got that a bit wrong!)

PS, I'm nearly fluent in Spanish por lo tanto, si puedo modificar este teclado, podemos hablar en espanol (no hay acentos en este teclado! )

I found a site called Learndutch, which may be of help. I don't know what level it goes up to or if it'd be of use. Try www.interpals.net, http://ppi.searchy.net or www.penpalnet.com if you want look for Dutch email penpals. I found this useful for practising French.

    Good luck!!

    Laat me weten.

    Translation:
My first language is English but I learned alot of Dutch about 3 years ago (when I lived in Holland). I am Canadian (born to Dutch parents) and would like to practice my Dutch as well. I know nothing about Spanish but would like to write or email a bit with you in Dutch. Let me know.

PS Waar woon je in nederland?
