its the stereotypical thing, not to likt your manager, but i really dont, i have such a problem with him
i work in a shop where sales can be about 20 products, or one or two, so scanning something twice can be easy, but i always void it off,
but there is a button price enquiry - someone wants to know how much something is, you press the button and scan and it shows the price
my boss got me in the office, to ask me why i had done 40 price enquirys - how the hell do i know, i was on the tills all bloody week! it seem alot but he made me feel shit, for such a petty thing!
sounds ott, but i just want 2 quit and get a new job, but my pay is good, and so is my hours i just dont lik emy boss grrr, and i dont know if 2 look for a new job, i know i wont get hours/pay as good as what i have

Me too
I'm pretty lucky tho cos I get on well with my boss. It'd be horrible going to work if I didn't.
So, ummmm, yeah. I do like him.
If you feel you are being bullied or harassed then you should get your union involved.....
if you feel you're being picked on by your manager then definately go to someone above him/her and complain. theres not much they can do (cant exactly beat you up can they?) and if nothing happens and the bad treatment continues just tell them to fuck off and that they can find someone else because you aint puttin up ith it anymore and go find a new job.
good luck

My not-quite-current manager, who gave me the job, was really cool. He treated all of us like equals and we were always joking around, the whole department.
He just left for another department and I duno what the new manager is like yet.
But I'd say that getting on with your manager has alot to di with how much you enjoy your job and how much you actually do.
The deputy manager for my section is such a complete bitch, everyone hates her and she inspires zero motivation in me or anyone else.
So if you like your manager you're more likely to work properly cos you don't want to give them any more pressure than they already have.
But this bitch has a serious grudge against me, fortunately she's rumoured to be leaving in september so I've only got to put up with the bitch for 4 more months.
Sorry to hijack your thread Posh*Bird, just had to get that off my chest. Anyway if he carries on being a prick then just stand up to him.
If that don't work then it looks like u may be in the same situation as me and he's just chosen you to pick on.
I eventually left (read: was pushed) because I had a few disagreements with management and I didn't hesitate to state my opinions.
You should discuss your feelings first with the manager in question. If you go over his head without talking to him first he's likely to take ubmrage and may try to make your life difficult.
If talking to him doesn't work, talk to his superior.
Remember, if he does start bullying you all the time or anything like that, threatening to make an official complaint is also a good way to show that you mean business.
My only point would be that if you keep causing trouble for him, even if it's his fault in the first place, he's likely to try and find any reason he can to get rid of you (my bosses tried to accuse me of theft, but that's another story).
Stand up to him, but make sure you remember your limits.

*wonders why none of his staff are this dedicated*
I'm lucky to have had a sucession of good managers, but I've experienced bad managers too.
Look on this as management training, learn from the good and the bad ones and you'll know what you should and shouldn't do.
So i reckon you should have a word with your boss and then kick him in the nuts!!!!
I work in and about a car deeler place, i spend quite a bit of time in an office with serveral other workers, the girl and the other bloke i work with are sound, but my boss is an arsehole. He thinks he's the man, hes on a power trip, he says things like "im the most laid back boss you will ever meet huh" when he clearly isnt, the most annoying thing is he hates not being the centre point of a conversation, and not being mr attention, and uses his status to make sure he isnt. Like he makes everyone stop work and take notice to his ramblings about how great he is at snooker, but as soon as i have a small conversation with my fellow worker which doesnt include him he looks up and tells us to get some work done despite us working and talking. He goes out his way to make sure he is the only person anyone is allowed to talk to.
I dont know wether to hate him or pitty him, i can see signs of him having some shit happen to him when he was younger or something, and now hes 30 and has a good status in his job he uses it to control people.
Only advice i can give is to try and ignore your boss, and think to yourself who the fuck is this person to make me wanna quit a job i actualy quite enjoy. Soon as you step out of the workplace you are an equal
