    Hi @ellie2000,

it sounds tough to experinece that dip to bad feelings when you return from holidays - and it's totally okay. i think quite a few people feel like coming back is like a 'return to normal' and their typical routines and miss the happiness and escape a holiday provides.

i'd say its totally important to try and ignore people who dampen your mood - protecting how you feel is so important. there are lots of ways you could do this... whether it be surrounding yourself with people who make you feel good... or if a conversation starts to make you feel bad, finding a way to politely step away from it or change the topic. as for staying with a good level of happiness... for me i'd usually find things i enjoy doing and trying to fit them into my day. it's about finding ways that work for you!!

Have you got any ideas as to how you can protect your energy and happiness when you feel like this? or any hobbies or things you get up to that make you happy?

    sending hugs
    Sinead

Hey @ellie2000 thanks so much for your post. It sounds like you've been having a hard time since getting back from your holiday, and I totally hear what you're saying about being worried these bad feelings will stay forever. I've felt the same in the past too - when you're struggling, it can be hard sometimes to believe things will ever get better again!! Is there anyone in particular who's bringing you down and making you unhappy?

As @sinead276 said above, it sounds really natural to have a bit of a dip in your mood when you return home after a new adventure. I know quite a lot of people can get the 'post-holiday blues'. Would it feel helpful to tell us some memories from your holiday that you really enjoyed? Am I right in thinking you went to the Arctic!? That's so cool! Did you manage to see the Northern Lights in the end? They've always been on my bucket list!

Sending you a hug, @ellie2000 , and please feel free to share more if you wanted to tell us what kind of bad feelings you're having? We're here to listen.

Wow your holiday sounds amazing @ellie2000 <3 Holiday blues is usually a way to describe the low feeling of getting back home after a wonderful holiday. Maybe because you're missing the holiday and are sad that it's over now.
