It's a big life lesson. And it goes to everyone here.
If at any point, you find yourself in a situation where you have to beg for a person's time, love, forgiveness, affection, etc don't do it. It doesn't matter what kind of relationship you have with that person nor the sentimental value they have to you. If they leave you in a position where you have to beg, walk away. You did what you could. You shouldn't have to fight for something that they're not willing to give. Find someone who values you just as much as you value yourself.
