    Thanks for posting. This does sound like a difficult situation that many of us face when we are living with parents or carers.

    Legally speaking I think yes, your parents can ground you. You may find this post about moving out when 16 on TheSite helpful to understand a bit better your parent's role between the ages of 16 to 18.

    However, it may be an idea to reflect on why you are being grounded in the first place. Can you give us any more detail so we understand your situation a bit better?
