I am hoping to go on a cheapo holiday in the Easter holidays (end of March/beginning of April) and was thinking of one of the Canary Islands. Has anyone been to any of them, what are they like and WILL I GET A TAN IN MARCH? I want to sit in my exams nice and brown, not bright white! Any tips very much appreciated. Thanks :-)

Well I've been to Gran Canaria about 3-4 times Tenerife once, Lanzarote once and maybe another one of them - if there is one that is <IMG alt="image" SRC="biggrin.gif" border="0">

You should have no problem getting a tan at all. You REALLY need to renember to put sun cream on very often. I normally don't burn at all but I managed to get quite burnt in Tenerife after swimming and forgetting to reapply and playing basketball with my back to the sun for 2 hours - it looked like a snake shedding its skin....

They are all very nice islands with lots to do - my choice would depend on what prices you can get. Another tip - by some bottled water on your way to your apartment, as all the water there is desalinated water and tastes foul.
