Did any of you guys read about/see Jennifer Lawrence's recent interview when she said this?

Here's an article: http://www.theguardian.com/film/2013/dec/18/jennifer-lawrence-fat-shaming-illegal-barbara-walters-hunger-games

    Ridiculous.
Whilst I don't agree with ridiculing people for being fat, or discriminating against those who are fat, the idea that we should call fat people fat is absurd.

Lets not pretend being fat is a good or harmless thing, or that being fat is is some way uncontrollable.

The sad thing is this misguided attempt to help is likely born out of good intention.

Unfortunately, there seems to be a trend where the spotlight of special dispensation focuses on particular areas: "fat shaming"; the accused in rape trials; neo-feminist ideas; "triggering". And I suspect most of it starts with the best of intentions, however, it always plays out to be myopic and, more often than not, self-righteous and shrill.

Bullying and discrimination against fat people exists. This is an uncontroversial statement. And it's wrong. But to acknowledge this we don't have to pretend like we know nothing about the adverse effects of being fat or demand that we legislate against being a dick to fat people or curtail freedom of expression or believe that being fat is some uncontrollable infliction.
