I wish you every success if you do decide to go to university Becki. Obviously it's your choice whether you decide to study a degree but I urge you to seriously consider whether you want to spend 50K and 6 years of your life (if you are studying a masters). What do you think?

A friend just told me this story....http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2704394/Posh-brat-Oxford-student-calls-scientist-hula-dancer-singer-raises-14-000-strangers-pay-masters-failing-200-jobs.html

    Hope you are well.

It's true, going to uni can leave you in debt. Pre-planning can help to make it manageable. You only start paying back your student loan once you're earning a certain amount too.

A fair few of my friends had part-time jobs at uni that helped towards the cost of living and books etc. so that might be something to think about if you're worried about money.

It sounds like you're really keen to go Becki so I guess it's about doing your research and being prepared :)

We have a new video on TheSite today for anyone that didn't get the result they wanted which I thought I'd share too:

I really hope it goes well for you. Sadly we live in a world where everything people do is done to benefit themselves. Everything is about manipulation, sad but true. I took my nephew to college last week to help him choose a course. The advisor was not interested in whether the course was right for him or his future. I asked to see student satisfaction surveys and drop out rates. She said 'We cannot give out that information'. You will find that some universities will not let you talk to the third year students....hmmmmm. Question everything!

When I was unemployed I was asked if lived with my parents and I never questioned why this was. It was because they were more likely to stop my benefits compared to someone who lives on their own. I could give you more examples like this relating to mortgages, banks, student loans, credit cards....there are examples everywhere you go! If you are taking your time and being pressured into making a decision you are better of walking away. There are 'mortgages' now which are more or less rental properties that are designed to promote capitalism. I feel for the businesses that will be victims in the riots next summer
