Profiles bug.

Just another bug report I'm afraid. Not too important in the grand scheme of things, but on profile pages the Member Status doesn't seem to be updating.

I noticed this on my own profile first, where I'm still a 'Fast Newbie' after 200 posts. So I checked out a few other profile and found lots of other 'Fast Newbie's with hundreds of posts too.

Did you know that even Turtle is a 'Fast Newbie'? In fact the only people who seem not to be 'newbies' are the Admins.

I know its a little thing, and not that vital, but the term newbie is hardly appropriate for all users except mods is it?

Thanks for listening.

I don't know why this isn't done in the profile bit but it does say, right at the bottom of the profile pages....
Note: Member ratings are not currently permitted on this message board.

The text is very small though, so maybe, you being an old grandad and all, you didn't see it?

The profile has always been like that, there was a post about six months asking the same thing. It changes after 5 posts

Oooops. I should have been a bit clearer really. Sorry.

    Lemme try again:

The member status shown on a profile page doesn't seem to actually match any of the statuses at all...

On the first post a user is a 'Newbie', then they rapidly show as a 'Cool Newbie', then they become a 'Crazy Poster', an 'Insane Poster', etc. Never are they a 'Fast Newbie' anywhere but on the profile page.

So 'Fast Newbie' is a different thing anyway from all that, so why not just change the words of whatever bit goes into the profile from 'Fast Newbie' to something that will have longer relevance like 'Site User' (to differenciate from the other status seen - Administrator) or 'Member' or whatever? Anything rather than 'Fast Newbie'.

I'm not asking that the Member Status on profiles necessarily update to match the status shown elsewhere, just that if it is not going to, it ought to be a status that remains relevant.

Did it make more sense that time?

Member ratings, for whoever posted it, are where other posters vote on how good you are. Useful, and kinda fun, and you can see who are the cool posters and who are the bad ones.

If they had member ratings, I'd have lost any remaining respect I have a hella long time ago.

I think member ratings would be a good idea, imagine the usefulness of them in clearing up the sex forum?

... and Turtle, I'd vote 'cool' for you, no worries!!
