I'm looking at unis for 2003 (already! I'm too young to go to uni!) and have been erring towards Herriot-Watt. The course that i want is taught there, and it has achievable entry grades, i was just wondering if anyone knew anything about the uni itself/has been to the uni itself. I'm talking about the Edinburgh campus, not the Scottish Borders one. Thanks!

My sister's boyfriend is in his last year at Herriot-Watt and has loved it. Being in Edinburgh is a right laugh - loads going on, especially for students - and the uni has got loads better in recent years. I'd recommend it, as I know Edinburgh really well.

Have you thought about Glasgow? It's even better....

No, i hadn't really thought about Glasgow.. the main attraction of Herriot-Watt is the fact that they offer a MA(hons) in accounting for a BCC - which, considering that i'm not very good at school, and i have ME (which means i have very little memory) is more obtainable than say, the ABB, that LSE want for it, or the AAB that warwick want - it seems to be a good balance between the places that want A's and B's, and those that only want C's and D's.

He's doing accounting there too! As far as I know, he's loved the course and is doing really well. He's been offered jobs down here in London and isn't even qualified yet.

I think it's supposed to be quite good for accounting, but that's going on what kev's said to me, and he should know!

    Go for it, I reckon.

Actually....if you want to ask any questions I could get his email address and PM it to you. He's a nice bloke, and I'm sure he'd be happy to help you out...

The only thing I know Heriot-Watt for is the fact it offers a BA in Brewing. What more could you ask for?
