First of all, don't worry about general studies. In my experience it's a complete lottery. I got an A at AS, but just scraped a C in the January module - what's more, it was a question about geography, which I'm doing at uni!

Also, I'm in Year 13, and for the first time am starting to see a benefit of the AS system. It does have many failings (I have FAR too much work), but at least I know have a clear idea of what I need to achieve in my A2 exams - with the AS's, half of the A2 is already in the bag, and it does take the pressure off.

Am really not impressed with the AS system... or my results from the results, i got a D in bio (2marks off a C) and an E in psych (dead on the grade boundary, one mark less, and it would have been a U). I'm not too worried because i now know that i need to do more work than i have been (like, none!) but i do think that January modules are too soon into the year, because it's a big difference from GCSE to a'level.
At least the course that i want at uni only wants a BCC - that's slightly more realistic than the AAB that Warwick wants for it. ( i want to take Accounting, and Warwick wants higher grades than LSE do!) And i agree, Sarah, i go to one of the best state schools in the South East, and there were loads of people with crappy results.

AS and General studies are a joke. In AS english lang and lit last year I got a C. In my A2 Jan exams I've got A's. Hmm, interesting. Also in AS general studies I got 100% on 2 papers and 98% on the third. That's a joke really cause I never went to one lesson. <IMG SRC="biggrin.gif" border="0" ALT="icon">
