I'd try and get that many poits, and if you just miss out on results day ring them up and ask them. Some universities are nice and will accept you if you have just missed out on the needed grades. It is however all upto the individual universities.

Did they say how many of those points need to be achieved through A-Levels? They may have specified 280 points, but said that at least 240 of them must be achieved via 2 A-levels (2As!) or similar?

Because most people are using Key Skills to boost the tariff point total, if you dont get to the total amount of points, but do get the A-Level total they specify, they will almost definitely take you.

Remember that you must have been predicted the grades on which they have made an offer, so you are likely to get them.

If you don't, then make sure you have your school/college lecturers phone number so you can get them to call the uni and say "While they didn't achieve it in the exam, this student SHOULD have got those grades...". Works a charm, normally <IMG SRC="wink.gif" border="0" ALT="icon">

Last year i started an AVCE in computers. We did complete all the units but with low grades so i am adding a lot of work to it this year so i have no predicted grades. As well as that i started doing an AS level in film studies and in business this year so i have no prdicted grades for them either. And i dont do key skills or general studies. Ihave now been told by my teacher i can do the full a level business in the 1 year but that aint on my UCAS form. any more advice people?
