I'm a student who is studying in the International Fundation Year in China. These days, I was asked to write an article about UK and China student life. I haven't been to UK yet. So, could anybody do me a favour, give me some information about your high school life, for example, the courses and the hours in school. Please!

"started at 8:30am, finished at 3:15pm, had 4 lessons a day, primarys like maths, english, co-ordinated science and then 2 choices (mine being IT, DVE Business) and a language (German for me), was supposed to wear a full uniform (usually ended up substituting my own baseball cap, trainers and moto jacket instead of blazer)"
Could you elaborate please?
Primary school: ages 4/5 - 10/11
This may or may not be separated into 'Infant' school and 'Junior' school, Infants taking the younger students, Junior the older. Years from 'Reception' to Yr5.
Secondary School: "High" school if you must.
ages 10/11 - 16 (GCSE exams in Year 11)
Compulsory schooling ends at 16, but most schools will have a sixth form for 16-18 year olds who choose to do A-Levels (Yr 13).
Some students will leave school at 16 to do their A-Levels at a Sixth Form College, which is likely to offer other qualifications such as BTEC, or GNVQ ('Generally Not Very Qualified' )
After A-Levels, approximately 1/3 of students go on to University ("College" if you've been totally corrupted by Americanisations ). This usually lasts 3 years, but some courses (eg Medicine, Vet, Engineering, Architecture...etc) will take longer.
Not sure why school hours are relevant, and they can vary enormously between schools. Primary generally 9-3ish, Secondary 8.45-3.30ish.
