Nightlife in Oxford

Hello folks,

Hows it goin.
I was just wondering whether there were any students here who go to Uni in Oxford, and where the best places are to go out to each night to meet other students?

    hmm.. depends what you like. There's always Park End, which you have to go to at least once during your time in Oxford. I've only been once and I'm in my second year.. the place is a meat market! ugh...

    I like the Gallery.. oh wait, it's the Bridge now.. They have Code Red (hip hop) on Thursday nights ... quite popular and studenty.

    I don't usually go out to meet randoms, I tend to go out with my friends to these places.. hard to get to know ppl in clubs unless your up for random snogs, which I'm not.

    Um... there's always the classic--the Purple Turtle. Woohoo. Cheesy but great. <IMG SRC="biggrin.gif" border="0" ALT="icon"> (yes, this is a plug for the Union.. sorry!)

    Dunno what else to suggest... let me know if you find some interesting places. I might have to go take a look. <IMG SRC="smile.gif" border="0" ALT="icon">

    Yeah I've been to Park End and it seems to have gone downhill, and bery empty these days, plus its full of blokes.

    I think the Bridge is more my sort of place, Classy with good looking women.

    When are the best nights for the Purple turtle, The nights I've been have been empty.

    Brookes Uni on Friday nights is called Pleasure dome and it isn't that good.

    Besides going out to bars and clubs at night where do all of the Female students go?

    We also go to ballroom dancing classes and have a hell of a hard time convincing men to come with us.. even though they're sure to enjoy it once they're there!!!!

    Avoid Pork end.

    Avoid Filth.

    Avoid DTM.

    That doesnt really leave much for the club scene now <IMG SRC="frown.gif" border="0" ALT="icon"> apart from the pleasure dome at the OBSU or glam at their other union bar.

    The zodiac used to be OK but since last term in has nose dived.

    The Bridge seems to be the place to go to now on a monday night (flare).

    However the bar life in is good, there is plenty of places to go, but it all depends on what you are after. For cocktails there is thirst, cafe coco, bar love, baba, maxwells (even though the cocktails arent very good anymore)

    If you like getting knocked out by the low ceilings and heat in the Purple Turtle its the place for you! <IMG SRC="wink.gif" border="0" ALT="icon">
