I am interested in what everyone plans to do, or have done when they finish University? I hear from alot of people that they will go back 'home' and get a job to pay their many debts. There is people who take any job and don't even use their qualification, they gained. That is sad to me.

I am worried on what to do if I am not accepted, I cannot kick a routine, they bore/depress me. 9 - 5:30 in an office and then 7 pm - 1 am at the Spanish restaurant. Made to feel like Bill Murray from Groundhog Day, excluding the nice lady.

I'm graduating this summer (I hope). I had thought about doing a BUNAC summer job in the US before moving on, but I changed my mind because its not worth the bother, when I could just go straight into a full time job. You might not like the 9-5 but I like to stick to a routine. As for people who don't use their qualifications, thats a bit silly (unless you have a useless degree like philosophy or something). As an engineering student I feel my skills should be in demand so I plan to get a job in the profession for which I have been trained. As for location, I don't really want to go back home. I have just graduated, I want to find a place of my own. I'll be quite happy to move to find a work.

I hope to graduate this summer however I'm one of those people with a 'pointless degree'. I study English and European Studies and so I'm dong a PGCE starting in September. However, not being a fan of the 9-5 (and don't anyone tell me that teachers only work til 3:30 cos that's rubbish .... 'and all those long holidays....'etc etc) myself I plan on joining the army as an educational and training officer *prays to God eyesight doesn't get worse*. The whole best of both worlds thing sounds great. Having said all this ... speak to me in a year and you'll probably find that I'm still a bloody barmaid!!

Hmmmm, I study English and I spell 'doing' as 'dong'. Aren't you glad that I'm not actually planning on actually becoming a school teacher?

    Hehe <IMG SRC="wink.gif" border="0" ALT="icon">.

Anyway in response to the original question...I'll only be starting my BA (English Lang/Lit) this September, so possibly my post-BA plans are a little premature, but anyway...I'll hopefully be going on do postgraduate studies, and then work in academia.

    Dunno quite yet...

I'm in my second year doing History and German, so my year abroad will give me more time to think!

I'd love to do something poltical - perhaps doing political research or being an MP's assistant, so I can see things happen from the inside, and make a difference. I'm currently trying to blag summer jobs with local MPs, or at Labour Regional Office,so I can get some idea of what to expect. Fingers crossed!
