Depends how you treat them. I mean they don't count for your final grade but if you prepare for them as you would your final exams then they give a good indication of how you might do and areas of revision you need to look at.

I went into my mocks having done nothing and totally messed them up, my teachers thought i was an idiot and would go nowhere, ha!
Got all 10 GCSE's 1c 4a's and 5 b's not bad since i never did any work.

Good luck with them.

They might use your grades alongside your coursework grades and your predicted grades to get something if you miss your final exams. Other than that, you might get put onto different tiers if you do really badly..

However, I dont think they really reflect the actual grades. Depends how much work you put in for them of course. Most people at my school didn't bother for either (& me) but still improved by june- because you do absorb a lot of information just from going to revision classes and going through the mock papers aferwards.

Mine were all weird. I got worse for French in my actual exam because my teacher messed up the marking. And then for most subjects i improved by a grade. (Apart from tech, where i went from a D to an A because of coursework)

OHh.. and the other thing. Be careful. It's easy to do well in the mock and then coast until june. You dont want to do that! Most people at my school got a shock from fucking up in December and therefore revised for the actual things. Good luck

aghh.. Ermm..

Everything really. Sorry can't be any more specific. It's a bit late for the mock but for the actual thing go to your teacher who can give you a photocopy of the syllabus as they received it, so you'll have a clear idea of everything you should know.

Calculator is generally harder as it's the more complicated stuff.

As you're on higher tier, it's not that hard to get a C. Something like 20% on a lot of examining boards. Which is ridiculous but works in your favour really

Dont worry cos they dont mean shit unless you miss the real GCSEs. I am sitting them now as well, English lit tomorrow yay! I am predicted on A's for everything apart from chemistry and spanish where its a B and in the last exams the only 2 A's i got were in chem and spanish so it proves how much the predictions count for.

U guys who have taken ur mocks around the beginning of December are so lucky!!!

The selfish & inconsiderate teachers at my school, however, decided to give us our mocks straight after the christmas holidays so they wouldnt have to do any marking during their holidays! That means that no fun at chrimbo - just revision! And to add to it my school go back 2 days after new years which means that i'm either not gona get to enjoy new years eve or have a major hangover for my first couple of exams!

Ggrrrrr!!!! They start a week 2moro - i'm dreading it!!!
