Hi everyone, I have a few weeks left in which to make my final UCAS decision, but at the moment i cant decide whether to put UCL or Imperial College London as my 1st or 2nd choice. Can anyone who goes to either of these uni's tell me a bit about them and how they are finding the uni? are there good facilities, what is the tuition like, are u enjoying it, etc? Im applying to do biology btw.
Any info will be greatly appreciated! thanks.

hi! i'm in my first year at ucl, so this may be biased. academics aside (i am sure that ucl and imperial are probably equally good for biology), i would recommend ucl. compact campus, huge number of students all around, loads of clubs & societies & events. for a london institution you experience more of the typical 'student' life than at other colleges in london uni. i know this as i live in an intercollegiate hall, with friends at all of the colleges in the university. imperial is smaller, more international (though ucl is as well, eclectic mix of students), and i believe does not provide nus cards. anyway, either would be a good choice. if you choose imperial, apply to an intercollegiate hall of accomodation. i live in connaught hall in bloomsbury and it is a wicked, convenient place. good luck and let me know what you choose!

Thanks for the info! It was v helpful. I have chosen UCL as my first choice and Imperial as my second (insurance) choice. I really liked both uni's when looking around them so it was a hard choice but i am happy with my decision. Now i have to get the right Alevel grades - ABB! <IMG SRC="eek.gif" border="0" ALT="icon">

Good luck with getting your grades. Just to let you know though that if you do change your mind you may still be able to go to your second choice. All you have to do is phone up the first choice Uni on the day of your exam results and get them to release you from your contract with them and then contact the other Uni .... alternatively you could do it the other way around but you get my point. I only know this because by the time I got my A-level results (seems an awfully long time ago now) I had changed my mind but then I didn't get good enough grades anyway.

Good luck again by the way. I'm sure that you'll have a blast wherever you go.
